Sheet music from a scan, recordings for the ensemble

We are working on Optical Music Recognition (OMR) — a feature that reads a score from a photo or scan in a PDF file and turns it into files to work with and recordings to practise from.

  1. You photograph or scan the scoreA phone photo saved as a PDF is enough — so is a scan from a printer or a file from notation software.
  2. ReChoir reads the notes and the wordsPitches, rhythm and the lyrics under the staves — split by voice part.
  3. You get files and recordingsReChoir prepares the practice recordings on its own — one per voice part, played on an instrument. The MIDI and MusicXML files are there to download if you want to work on the score in your own notation software.

The feature is in early testing — it already runs with our first ensembles, and now anyone can try it on their own sheet music, free and without creating an account. We are still refining it, so treat the result as a preview of what is coming.
